Every assessor working with children in South Africa must have a valid, up-to-date criminal check. This isn’t just an admin step – it’s part of ensuring safe, high-quality data collection in the ELOM ecosystem.

If your check is still outstanding, your assessor profile can’t be activated. To help you get this done quickly and without confusion, we’ve pulled everything you need into one place. Follow the steps below to complete your renewal and send us your report.

1. Choose how you’ll complete your criminal check

You can use either option:

Option A: The Guardian

• Follow the booking instructions
• Complete and return the Guardian consent form

Option B: Another accredited provider

• Complete your check with any accredited provider (we recommend PostNet)
• Keep your report to send to us

2. Complete the required forms

Fill in all forms clearly in black pen. Every assessor must complete:

• Consent & Indemnity Form
• Form 7 – Sexual Offenders Register
• Form 30 – Child Protection Register
• SOR Drop-off & Collection Authorisation (only if The Guardian will submit or collect for you)

3. Use these details on all forms
